Competitiveness strategy of the city Ostrava

EEIP prepared a strategy for competitiveness of Ostrava till 2020 , which was successfully presented at a conference in Ostrava.
The study identified six basic pillars of competitiveness of Ostrava: the environment and quality of life, education , transport and infrastructure , employability, social inclusion and innovation. Various pillars have different weight in different cities , and it is equally true for Ostrava. For historical reasons the environment and quality of life, employability and social inclusion appear in the short term as the most important pillars of competitiveness of Ostrava. However, in the long term, the role of other pillars- innovation, transport, infrastructure and especially education should rise. Based on these six important pillars were defined three main axes or directions respectively for the development of competitiveness in Ostrava: Innovation for clean and healthy Ostrava, IT4 Innovations and International Ostrava. Within these axes, we subsequently recommended to implement 14 projects which should increase competitiveness of Ostrava.
