Consultancy for the Czech government and public administration

The public administration and governmental institutions have always belonged among EEIP’s important clients. EEIP’s priority in this area of advisory is, above all, the practical usage of consulting output and a top quality of offered services.

EEIP is offering consulting services suitable for clients in the public administration area, such as regional and sectoral analyses (benchmarking, econometric analysis of time series and panel data, multicriterial analysis etc.), organizational and personal optimization, economic assessment of projects and programs, identification and suggestion of operational improvements, regulatory impact assessments and others.

  • Study “Chinese Factor“

In 2006, EEIP prepared study “The Chinese factor: Current Economic Status, Demand for Energy and Opportunities“ for Vice-Prime Minister of the Czech Government Mr. Martin Jahn and  the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The study appraised:

  • economic and social aspects of current Chinese society
  • specific indicators of rapidly developing Chinese economy
  • forecasts of future trends in the Chinese economy
  • opportunities for the Czech Republic with respect to provided analyses

  • Studies for the Ministry for Regional Development
    EEIP provides consulting services in the field of EU structural funds for ministries and other public authorities. In 2009 EEIP participated in these studies prepared for the Ministry for Regional Development:

    • Impact of financial crisis on the implementation of operational programs in the program period 2007 – 2013
    • Delivering on the strategy of regional development in the Czech Republic and impact evaluation of the cohesion policy on regional development
    • Drawing financial resources from the EU funds – the consequences of the economic crisis and identification of methods for faster drawing.

  • National Economic Council (NERV)

In Janury, 2009, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Mirek Topolánek invited professor Mejstrík and other 9 leading figures from the Czech economic institutions to join the newly established government’s National Economic Council (hereinafter the “NERV” in the Czech acronym). NERV is an apolitical expert advisory and consultative body to the Government of the Czech Republic

Primary task of NERV was to analyze the risks and potential impacts of the global financial crisis on the Czech Republic, and to propose measures, steps and tools to mitigate or eliminate the potential impacts of the global financial crisis on the Czech Republic. The Council’s permanent task will be to seek out and propose measures that lead to maintenance or acceleration of the Czech Republic’s economic growth.

  • Government Council for Information SocietyGovernment Council for Information Society is an expert advisory body, which primary task is to perform a coordinating role instead of the abolished Ministry of Informatics and to provide the knowledge base for decision-making in the conceptual issues of information society development.

    The Council was established in 2007 and is led by the Steering Committee, headed by the Prime Minister and whose other members are the Ministers of Interior, Finance and Industry and Trade. Prof. Mejstrik and other members of the Council (total 28) were appointed by the government resolution on the basis of their expertise and professional qualifications. The Council represents interests of most important institutions that are directly influenced by the developing of information society and e-government. The Council members are government officials and local authorities as well as professionals from business associations and academia.
