Cooperation with the Charles University in Prague

EEIP company provides services of high quality thanks to the academic background that is combined with the experience from real practice.

Together with the academic sphere (Charles University), EEIP is, for instance in the field of the Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA), involved in projects and organization of conferences, discussions and seminars as platforms for information exchange among the authors of RIA for informing the professional and laic public, as EEIP considers the RIA process to be highly effective in improving the quality of regulation in the Czech Republic.

  • Jointly with the Charles University we have developed economic and mathematical methods and procedures applicable in the Czech legislative process as part of RIA. Besides, we prepared the Corruption Impact Assessment (CIA) methodology for the Czech Republic. Further details can be found on page devoted to TAČR funds .
  • The OECD, jointly with the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic and the Institute of Economic Studies (Charles University) jointly with EEIP, has organized an international conference on Regulatory Impact Assessment. The workshop presented recent developments in implementing RIA in the CR and exposed the participants to recent experience from leading OECD countries. The key topic was the emergence of RIA Boards that should serve as the independent watchdogs. RIA Board is a relatively new regulatory trend in the institutional setup among the OECD countries. The Czech RIA Board, with prof. Michal Mejstřík as the chairman and dr. Pavel Vacek as a member, is the newest institution of its kind among the OECD countries. A summary of the conference with downloadable presentations can be found on the webpage of the OECD as well as on the webpage of the Czech government.
  • Together with the non-government organization eStat and the Institute of Economic Studies we took part in organization of the panel discussion “EU in the Hold of Regulation: What Next? “ (in Czech only) focused on RIA in the EU and the CR. Among guests were for instance Mr. Jim Murphy – Minister for Europe of the United Kingdom or Mr. Alexander Vondra – Vice Prime Minister for European Affairs (May 5, 2008)
  • Together with the non-government organization eStat and the Institute of Economic Studies we took part in organization of the panel discussion “Output Quality of Czech Legislative Framework and Improvement Potential through Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA)” with guests like Mr. Zdenek Zajicek – Deputy Minister of Interior or Mr. Miroslav Singer – Vice Governor of the Czech National Bank (January 16, 2008).
